| Customer Reviews: Eagle Creek makes the BEST luggage, period. June 5, 2010 Matthew Philbin 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
If you are even thinking about buying eagle creek travel gear. Do it. It will be the best luggage purchase you will ever make and most likely the last one as well. The Hovercraft 22" upright is one of the most well build pieces of luggage I have ever seen. Compare it to a cheap big box store suitcase and the quality of the eagle creek will justify its high price. I felt alright spending almost $200 for this bag because it has a lifetime "No Matter What" guarantee from eagle creek. I read stories from people who were able to get their bag repaired or replaced for free after it was damaged while traveling. I am impressed how reinforced this bag is. You can tell they thought of every scenario where a bag could get hurt and put in some extra protection. The inside is nothing special really, just the typical open hole for packing. However, I use the eagle creek pack it system with mine and it helps to organize and make it easy to find/unpack things from the large interior compartment. I plan to buy eagle creek again when I need a larger piece of luggage, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for some quality travel gear.
Perfect Fit July 22, 2010 Sharla Ruland Love the color and design. Very durable materials. Structure is strong. I'll let you know how they hold up in 12 months :). I think the cost is appropriate and I chose this luggage because of the real lifetime warranty.
Okay, not great August 13, 2010 faffie (aptos, ca USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got a 4 bag set of nylon luggage for $100 about 10 years ago and they lasted 9.5 years. My next, more expensive set ($400ish) lasted about 3 trips. They were ballistic nylon, but the placement and quality of the zippers meant they got rubbed a lot and failed quickly. The nylon itself was fine, but intact zippers are kind of important (the zipper pulls also came off almost immediately). I decided to spring for better (more expensive) luggage and researched for a long time. I expected to be really impressed with this luggage after all the great reviews I read in Amazon and other places. I couldn't find much difference in price among retailers, so I figured it was too good to be discounted (!). I ordered four sizes. Only one came in its original packaging. Two came looking like they had already flown around the world and hit every airport. I returned them (Amazon handled the exchange expeditiously, as usual) and either got one of the same ones back or another just as scuffed. I gave up and kept it. I was also disappointed to receive one of them on which one of the rivets attaching the name plate to the bag had broken. They are not as sturdy as I expected, but they haven't failed yet--after one cross-country trip. I was also disappointed to receive one of them on which one of the rivets attaching the name plate to the bag had failed. The wheels and handles seem pretty sturdy, and I am pleased with the small roller bag. It fits, wheels first, in the overhead bin of even a small commuter plane, and its handle allows me to wheel a briefcase on it. All the bags have a lot of pockets--maybe too many. So far so good, but I'd feel better if I hadn't paid as much for them as I did.
