Monsoon Gearslinger, best bag I've yet owned! October 8, 2009 Vincent Wood (Small border town, Wi - USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had carried around cheap wal-mart and other brand backpacks for years, for school and everything else and up until the point when I had received my Maxpedition Monsoon gearslinger, the best bag I had is what came with my HP laptop! This bag is so much more than you'd ever need, if the size is right for what you use it for. I've used it for a couple of day-hikes/overnight hikes, and it has easily held all of my gear that I needed for the trips! The bag is spacious, tougher than hell and is fairly comfortable, even with it fully packed! Another friend of mine who I turned on to Maxpedition gear, recently had purchased one to use for carrying gear he normally wouldn't be able to carry on his motorcycle. He absolutely fell in love with the bag, and now uses it everyday! I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a tougher-than-nails bag, that is worth every penny!
This Thing is Heavy Duty August 25, 2009 BlueBerry (Salt Lake City) I bought this back pack because I needed a casual multipurpose bag. This bag was too heavy and large for this use. I don't mean that its poorly designed, but it is made so sturdily that it would probably carry 100 lbs or more before the fabric would give. It does have lots of pockets and does look as cool as it does in the pictures. If you need a very sturdy and amply sized bag then go for it.
Maxpedition gets it right with their gear! March 3, 2010 R. Strescino (Davie, Florida USA) Great bag overall, not one bad thing to say about it! Looks great, functions great and made very well, might be overpriced by about 20 dollars, I don't think any bag should cost more than 100 bucks. But if you have the $$$ it's worth getting
Not Bad for Travel June 1, 2010 Dane Anderson (Missoula, Montana) So, I purchased this bag (in black) almost a year ago. It's been great for school. I've been very very happy with it, with the only drawback is that it's not big enough for my seventeen inch laptop. But that just means I have a good reason to pick up a new smaller secondary laptop.
I've also noticed that, while watching the new Stargate series SG-U that this bag is featured heavily in alot of their off-world expeditions. I thought it was pretty cool to see my bag on the show.
Excellent weekend bag for dudes June 11, 2010 Robert Tyler Allensworth (Houston, Texas) I bought this item to be an all purpose bag. Works great for short weekend trips or daily workout sessions. I typically use it to carry casual clothes for an entire weekend + toiletries.
It is incredibly comfortable even when fully packed ( i am 6 ft tall and 200lb guy).
The build quality is better than any other bag i have ever owned. The main zipper is "heavier" than on bags i own that are 3 times the size and the mesh inside is the thickest/heaviest is have ever seen.
The only downsides are the fact is that there are so many compartments that i have "lost" things in the bag ... but that is a good problem to have.
I would absolutely recommend this bag for any man that wouldn't mind their girlfriend calling it a man-purse.
